Cette exposition a lieu du 28 janvier au 11 mars 2023. Commissariée par l’artiste Alexander Rondeau, elle réunit un groupe d’artistes contemporains queer, trans et/ou bi-spirituels (2QT) du Nord de l’Ontario. Utilisant divers médiums, les œuvres de chacun des artistes proposent des lectures nuancées, nordiques et rurales de la « hantologie queer », explorant les forces complexes et invisibles qui façonnent l’expérience et l’expression 2QT. Puisant dans l’univers du mystique, aberration // apparition offre des perspectives nordiques qui questionnent la nature fantomatique du fait queer.

Curated by artist Alexander Rondeau, this exhibit brings together a group of queer, trans, and/or two-spirit (2QT) identified contemporary artists from across Northern Ontario. Working with various mediums, each of the artists’ pieces offer nuanced, northern and rural readings of “queer hauntology”: the complicated and invisible forces at play in navigating the world as a 2QT person. aberration // apparition offers embodied, Northern perspectives of 2QT hauntings that question the ghostly nature of queerness.
